About these network details

Your browser automatically queries ipdata for public IP, network and approximate location, and ip-api for the observed DNS resolver. Local IP and device count cannot be reliably detected. Results may be cached for 10 minutes.

The complete 192.168.11.1 guide

Buffalo's support documentation lists 192.168.11.1 as the initial address for many of its routers, with product exceptions. Check the device's operating mode: an access point can receive a different management address. Do not copy a router-mode default into an already configured bridged network without checking the current assignment.

Common address typing mistakes

Why does 192.168.l1.1 not open?

Searches such as 192.168.l1.1, 192.168.1l.l can contain letters, missing dots or extra characters. If you mean 192.168.11.1, enter that exact address in the browser address bar. Use digits and dots; the letter l is not the number 1, and the letter o is not zero.

First check that your device lists 192.168.11.1 as its gateway. A similar-looking search does not establish your router's address or password.

Open the correct management interface

Connect to your own device's main Wi-Fi network or an appropriate LAN port before opening its management page. The address shown here is a starting point: use the current gateway, device label and exact model documentation to confirm it.

  1. Check the complete model and hardware revision on the label. Keep the administrator account separate from the Wi-Fi key.
  2. Open the documented address in the browser address bar. If the LAN address was changed or the device is an access point, check its current assignment on the upstream router.
  3. Sign in using the password you created during setup or the model's documented initial process. Do not assume admin/admin applies to a newer device.

Change the Wi-Fi name and password

Open the wireless settings for the intended network, select the correct band or shared Smart Connect network, then edit the SSID and wireless password. Save the changes and reconnect your devices. A wireless change can end your current session. Keep a wired connection available where supported.

If the page does not open

Check the active connection's address, subnet mask and gateway. Guest isolation, an upstream router or a VPN route can prevent management access. A failed browser request does not identify a device or prove that a password is wrong. Use the exact model instructions before changing addressing or resetting anything.

Keep Internet settings intact

Back up the configuration where supported and make one change at a time. Preserve provider connection details, VLAN and telephone settings. Restarting and factory resetting are different actions; use a reset only when you can restore the configuration or the provider has instructed you to do so.
