About these network details
Your browser automatically queries ipdata for public IP, network and approximate location, and ip-api for the observed DNS resolver. Local IP and device count cannot be reliably detected. Results may be cached for 10 minutes.
Public IP. Local IP. What’s the difference?
Your public IP identifies your connection on the internet. Your local IP belongs to a device inside your network. Your router’s login address opens its settings; it is not your public IP.
How to interpret the result
A public IP describes the connection visible to the service receiving your request. A VPN, mobile carrier or shared provider address can change what appears; it is not a reliable identity or precise location. The browser’s online indicator also does not prove Internet access. This tool does not discover the router’s configured DNS or count devices on the LAN.
Scope and limitations
Local IP, DNS settings and device count cannot be read reliably from a browser. Use the network lookup tool to query the network announcing a public IPv4 address after giving consent. It does not determine your exact location or necessarily identify your retail ISP.
